What fee-based features have you coupled to mPP?
      #1997 - 01/24/04 09:08 AM

For those who have implemented myPaymentPal, I am curious what fee-based features you have given your paying members. I understand there is a lot of variety due to the wildly divergent forum content we all have, so I am interested in hearing about any creative things you've done.

We have a list of simple things we'd like to do. Our forums will remain completely open to non-paying members to register, post, search, etc. But we are thinking of paid member forums, paid members can post pix (others cannot), avatars, a few other things. Then roll PhotoPost integration in down the road.

I am taking the same approach you are in this, Joe. At the moment I am allowing those who subscribe to change their avatar and user title. Everything is free at my site and I want it to remain that way yet offer enhancements, I also accept donations.

Hi ericgtr, which hacks have you applied to support additional mPP features?

At the moment, just the two that I mentioned above. I will be adding more eventually though I am just doing it slow as not to scare off my users. What I did was setup a "Donation" link in my ubbtregisterednav.tmpl that takes them here http://www.vhfans.com/boards/paypal.php which displays what the users will get for donating.

great. Exactly what I need. Will the user title be reverted once subscription runs out? Where is the hack? is it complicated? Could the hack be implemented officially? Another piece of work at each and every upgrade??

Since there won't be any more versions of UBB.Threads - I don't think there will be any further development on the UBB.Threads version of MyPaymentPal (not a lot of return developing for a product (threads) which has been discontinued) we'll be developing further for the FusionBB version of MyPaymentPal - In fact, IT'LL BE INCLUDED - and we're hoping to offer FusionBB to MyPaymentPal license holders at an amazing deal.
